The Philosophy of ‘the Sealing of the Prophecy’ with a Comparative Look at the Viewpoints ofMottahari and IqbalLahori

نوشتارحاضردر باره فلسفهْ خاتميت است و در آن دو ديدگاه استاد مطهري و اقبال لاهوري مورد مقايسه و ارزيابي قرار گرفته است. اقبال معتقد است كه در دورهْ جديد با تولد عقل بساط وحي برچيده شده و نبوت متوقف گرديده است، ظهور اسلام همان ولادت عقل است كه وحي وپيامبري را كه دوران سيطرهْ غريزه بود تحت فرمان خود درآورده است. استاد مطهري ضمن اينكه با دلايلي محكم اين نظر را مردود اعلام كرده، مي‌فرمايد لازمهْ سخن اقبال «ختم ديانت است نه ختم نبوت». در نگاه مطهري راز ختم نبوت عبارت است از: رشدوبلوغ بشر، توانايي حفظ كتاب آسماني از تحريف و اجتهاد.

This article deals with the philosophy of ‘the sealing of the Prophecy’ and compares and evaluates the viewpoints ofMottahari and IqbalLahori on this issue. Iqbalbelieves that the Prophecy was sealed and the Prophethood came to a haltthanks to thebirth of intellect and the advent of Islam corresponds with the birth of intellect which governed the Revelation and Prophecy as the age of the dominance of instinct. Rejecting this view on the basis of some robust reasons, Mottaharipoints out that Iqbal’s idea “calls for the sealing of religiosity, not Prophecy”. From Mottahari’s standpoint, the secret of the sealing of the Prophecy is the growth and maturity of man, the ability to keep the Heavenly Book from distortion and the ability to performijtihad (independent reasoning).
