Animate Symbols in the Qurʹʹan

نمادها واژگاني هستند كه در معاني‌اي غير از معناي اصلي خود به كار مي‌روند؛ و معناي آن‌ها معنايي مجرد و نامحسوس و ناملموس است. نشانه‌ها واژگاني هستند كه براي بيان يك معناي ملموس و محسوس غير از معناي اصليشان به كار مي‌روند. در قرآن كريم از نمادها و نشانه هاي فراواني همچون نمادهاي جاندار، بي جان، گياهي و انتزاعي استفاده شده است، نگارنده در اين مقاله سعي نموده است بر اساس آيات قرآن و روايات اهل‌البيت نمادها و نشانه هاي جاندار را تاويل نموده و معاني آن‌ها را از ديدگاه هاي مختلف فريقين بررسي كند. قطعاً درك صحيح از تاويل يا تفسير يك واژه ما را به فهم بهتر زبان قرآن رهنمون نموده و از بسياري از خطاها مصون مي‌دارد. لازم به ذكرست است كه شناخت فرهنگ ملل مختلف به فهم نمادها كمك شاياني مي‌نمايد كه بدين دليل نگارنده از منابعي كه در اين باره تحقيق و پژوهش نموده‌اند بهره برده است. نمادها و نشانه‌ها در قرآن در حدود 100 نماد هستند كه نگارنده در اين مقاله فقط به بيان نمادهايي كه جاندار بوده و از نعمت حيات و زندگي بهره‌مند بوده‌اند اعم از انسان، شيطان، و يا حيوانات بحث نموده است.

Symbols are the words utilized in meanings other than their original meanings; and their meanings are abstract and intangible. Signs are words used to express a tangible and sensible meaning other than their original meaning. Many symbols and signs such as the animate, inanimate, herbal, and abstract symbols are used in the Qur’an. In this article, the writer has tried to interpret the animate symbols and signs according to the verses of the Qur’an and the traditions of the Ahl al-Bayt and to study their meanings from the various viewpoints of the two major sects (of Shi‘a and Sunni). A correct understanding of the ta‘wil (esoteric interpretation) or tafsir (exegesis) of a word would lead us to a better understanding of the Qur’an and keep us secured from many of the errors. It is worth mentioning that cognition of the culture of various nations would highly contribute to understanding the symbols. For this reason, the writer has made use of the sources that have researched in this respect. There are about 100 symbols and signs in the Qur’an, of which the writer has discussed only about the symbols that are animate and enjoy the blessing of life and living, including man, Satan, or animals.
