A Study of Adel Daher’s Philosophical and Political Views

عادل ضاهر يكي از متفكران برجسته عرب و از نام‌هاي ناآشنا در ايران است. او مانند ساير فيلسوفان مدرن عقل را بر هر منبع ديگري مقدم مي‌انگارد ضاهر با تقسيم عقل به دو بخش نظري و عملي كار آن را علاوه بر تعيين ابزار، تعيين غايات نيز مي‌داند. به عبارت ديگر وي هم به عقلانيت معطوف به هدف و هم به عقلانيت معطوف به ارزش اعتقاد دارد. از ويژگي‌هاي مهم اين انديشمند آن است كه وي تفكر فلسفي را جدا از اجتماع انساني و به عنوان يك حرفه تلقي نمي‌كند. بلكه براي آن رسالت نقد و تغيير حيات جمعي قايل است. او معتقد است اگر هسته اصلي دين به‌درستي درك شود، صحّت عقيده كساني كه به رابطه ضروري و منطقي ميان دين و حيات دنيا باور دارند مشخص مي‌گردد. در اين مقاله بر اساس روش متاتيوري چارچوب‌هاي اصلي تفكر اين نويسنده لبناني مورد بررسي قرار گرفته است.

Adel Daher is one of the sophisticated Arab intellectuals who is unknown in Iran. Like any modern philosopher, he considers intellect as the first means of identification. Dividing intellect into two parts of theoretical and practical, he believes that besides identifying the means to attain goals (teleos), intellect also serves to determine the very goals. In other words, he believes in goal-oriented rationality as well as value-oriented rationality. He does not think of philosophical thought as a profession, detached from human community; rather, he considers it as bearing the task of criticizing and modification of social life. He believes that if the core of religion is truly understood, then it becomes clear that those who believe in the necessity of the relation between religion and worldly mundane life are false. The present paper studies the main theoretical framework of this Lebanese thinker’s views based on a metatheoretical approach.
