پايان‌‌بندي داستان، يكي از عناصري است كه جهت‌‌گيري نويني به نقد ادبي داده است. هنر داستان‌‌پردازي مولانا در ميان شاعران و نوابغ ايراني تقريباً بي‌‌نظير است. شگردهاي روايي در مثنوي، در ساختار و محتواي اين اثر سترگ در هم تنيده است. يكي از شاخصه‌هاي زيبايي‌شناختي كه در داستان‌هاي مثنوي چشمگير است، شيوه پايان‌بندي است. در پژوهش حاضر، شيوه‌‌هاي پايان‌‌بندي در شش دفتر مثنوي بررسي شده و مواردي كه برجستگي بيشتري دارد، مورد درنگ قرار گرفته است. اين پايان‌بندي‌هاي منحصربه‌‌فرد مولانا را مي‌‌توان با توجّه به تداعي معاني، طرح، توجّه به مخاطب و گفت‌‌وگو ـ كه در متون ديگر بي‌‌سابقه است ـ و چندآوا بودن روايت، تبيين كرد. پايان هر داستان به گونه‌‌اي است كه مخاطب را به ادامه داستان بعدي ترغيب مي‌‌كند و هدف اصلي هر داستان را ـ كه ايجاد كنش و انگيزه در خواننده است ـ در مخاطب برمي‌‌انگيزد. شيوه پايان‌بندي‌هاي مولانا در داستان‌هاي مثنوي، به گونه‌اي عميق با نيّت ادبي در متن و محتواي ساختاري آن در پيوند است.

Story-ending is one of the elements which have led to a new approach to the literary criticism. Mowl?n?’s art of storytelling is really a unique one. The narrative techniques have made the structure and the contents of Mathnavi intertwined. Story-ending is one of the aesthetic features that play an impressive role in the stories this masterpiece. Mowl?n?’s story-ending technique has been analyzed, in present study, through all six volumes of his Mathnavi, with a further reflection on the more prominent. His unique endings can be explained according to the association of ideas, the plot of his stories, his attention to his addressed reader the dialogues- what has no similar in other works – and his polyphonic narration. Each story ends in such a way that persuades the reader to pursuit next story, to stimulate the action and motivation of the reader as the main purpose of the story. The method Mowl?n? chooses to end his stories has a profound link to the literary intends of the text and its structural contents.
