بررسي و مقايسه كمي و كيفي پرداخت دندان‌ها به روش تزريق اتوماتيك خمير پروفيلاكسي در مقايسه با روش معمول

Qualitative and quantitative analysis and comparison of automatic injection of prophylactic paste with the conventional polishing technique

چكيده مقدمه: پرداخت دندان، شامل عمل صاف كردن سطح با استفاده از برس يا روش‌هاي ديگر همراه با تركيب خمير ساينده پروفيلاكسي، مي‌باشد. گذاشتن خمير به سر برس توسط دست زمان‌بر است. هدف از اين مطالعه، بررسي مقايسه‌اي كمي و كيفي يك دستگاه اتوماتيك جديد با دستگاه معمولي به‌ترتيب از طريق اندازه‌گيري زمان پرداخت و تعداد دندان‌هاي پرداخت شده در واحد زمان و نظرخواهي از كاربران بود. مواد و روش‌ها: در اين مطالعه تحليلي- توصيفي 60 نمونه دندان در دو فك بالا و پايين به‌صورت تصادفي با دستگاه معمول و اتوماتيك پرداخت شده و زمان و تعداد دندان‌هاي پرداخت شده در يك دقيقه اندازه‌گيري شد. در ارزيابي كيفي از طريق پرسش‌نامه، نظر كاربران درباره كارايي روش جديد پرداخت اتوماتيك در مقايسه با دستگاه معمولي جمع‌آوري شد. داده‌ها در نرم‌افزار آماري SPSS نسخه 11 با آزمون آناليز واريانس دوطرفه تجزيه و تحليل شد (05/0 = ?). يافته‌ها: زمان پرداخت در دستگاه اتوماتيك 60 درصد كاهش يافت. ميزان تغيير زمان دستگاه اتوماتيك نسبت به دستگاه معمولي تفاوت معنادار داشت (003/0 = p value). نوع فك اثر معنادار در زمان و تعداد دندان‌هاي پرداخت شده با دستگاه جديد در مقايسه با دستگاه معمولي نداشت ( 96/ 0و 30/0 = p value). در ارزيابي كيفي دستگاه اتوماتيك، 10 درصد كاربران ارزيابي متوسط و 7/86 درصد نظر خوب و 3/3 درصد ارزيابي ضعيف از دستگاه داشتند. هم‌چنين كارايي دستگاه از نظر رضايت‌مندي كاربران 6/76 درصد، ازلحاظ علاقه كيفي كاربر به خريد دستگاه 3/73 درصد، نسبت به رقيق شدن خمير پروفيلاكسي با آب 60 درصد و يكنواخت پرداخت شدن دندان‌ها توسط مكانيسم جديد 50 درصد افزايش نشان داد. نتيجه‌‌گيري: با درنظر گرفتن محدوديت‌هاي پژوهش، دستگاه تزريق اتوماتيك خمير پروفيلاكسي در مقايسه با دستگاه معمولي از نظر كمي (زمان و تعداد دندان‌هاي پرداخت شده) و از نظر كيفي (رضايت‌مندي كاربر، ارگونومي و سادگي كار با سيستم) برتري نشان داد. مطالعات بيش‌تر توصيه مي‌گردد. كليد واژه‌ها: پرداخت دندان، خمير پروفيلاكسي، زمان پرداخت

Abstract Introduction: Polishing is a method to make tooth surface smooth using a bristle brush or other methods with an abrasive prophylactic paste. Placing the paste on the brush by hand is time-consuming. The aim of this study was qualitative and quantitative evaluation and comparison of a new automatic instrument with conventional manual technique in terms of polishing time and the number of teeth polished per specific time intervals and by asking for the ideas of dental practitioners. Materials and methods: In this study, 60 tooth samples were randomly selected from the upper and lower jaws and underwent polishing with an automatic polishing system and conventional polishing system and the number of teeth polished in a minute was calculated. Qualitative evaluation was carried out using a questionnaire completed by users in relation to the performance of the new system in comparison to the conventional system. Data were analyzed with SPSS 11 using two-way ANOVA (? = 0.05). Results: Polishing time decreased up to 60% with the automatic system, which was statistically significant (p value = 0.003). The jaw type had no significant effect on procedure time and the number of teeth polished during time intervals with the new system compared to the conventional system (p value = 0.3, p value = 0.96). In relation to quality evaluation of the new system, 86.6%, 10% and 3.3% of the users rated its efficacy as good, fair and weak, respectively. In addition, 76.6% of users were satisfied with the new system’s efficacy; 73.3% were interested in buying the new system; 60% were satisfied with dilution of paste with water; and there was a 50% increase in tooth surface smoothness with the use of the new system. Conclusion: Under the limitations of the present study, automatic polishing system was superior to the conventional system quantitatively (time and the total number of teeth polished) and qualitatively (user satisfaction, ergonomics and ease of use).
