Geopolitical Analysis of Azerbaijan Autonomous Movement

تحليل ژيوپليتيكي جنبش خودمختاري آذربايجان

چكيده تشكيل فرقه دموكرات آذربايجان به‌طور سنتي توسط محققين غربي و ايراني چيزي جز يك جنبش دست نشانده اتحاد جماهير شوروي نبوده است. اين رويكرد تحقيقاتي به نقش اتحاد جماهير شوروي اهميت خاصي در تشكيل فرقه دموكرات در آذربايجان قايل شده است. حضور يك رژيم كمونيستي در همسايگي آذربايجان ايران مي‌توانست عاملي قدرتمند در حمايت از حزبي با عقايد سوسياليستي تلقي شود زيرا فرقه دموكرات نمي‌توانست بدون پشتيباني و راهنمايي اتحاد جماهير شوروي تشكيل شود. اين پاسخ طبعاً منطقي به‌نظر مي‌رسد و دقيقاً قابل توجيه بوده، اما بايد در نظر داشته باشيم كه مسيله آذربايجان يك مسيله پيچيده با انگيزه‌ها و تنش‌هاي بسيار زياد بوده است.

Abstract The establishment of the Dimukrat party of Azerbaijan has been traditionally interpreted by both Western and Persian scholars as nothing but a soviet creation. It is an approach characterized by the importance given to the role of the Soviet Union within the province of Azerbaijan: the presence of this Communist regime has been assumed to have been such a powerful factor that the establishment of a party with so marked an affinity with socialist ideas could not have come about except under its direction and aegis. This is an answer, however, which fits the facts too neatly, a trap of which we must beware, since it conveniently hides much more complicated motivations and tensions.
