Evaluation of the Factors and Indicators Affecting the Quality of Departments of Library and Information Science: A Case Study of the Library and Information Science Group of Tarbiat Moallem University of Tehran

هدف: الگوي ارزيابي دروني براي ارزشيابي عوامل و نشانگرهاي تاثيرگذار بر كيفيت در گروه كتابداري و اطلاع‌‌رساني دانشگاه تربيت معلم تهران در اين مطالعه به‌‌كار گرفته شده است.. روش/رويكرد پژوهش: اين پژوهش توصيفي و ارزشيابانه است. جامعه مورد مطالعه شامل اعضاي هييت علمي، مدير گروه، دانشجويان، دانش‎آموختگان، كارفرمايان دانش‌‌آموختگان، و مسيولين كتابخانه است. داده‎ها در چهار زيرجامعه، شامل اعضاي هييت علمي، دانشجويان، مدير گروه و مسيولين كتابخانه بدون نمونه گيري، و در دو زيرجامعه دانش‎آموختگان و كارفرمايان با نمونه‌‌گيري در دسترس استفاده شد. ابزار گردآوري داده‎ها پرسشنامه، مصاحبه و چك‌‌ليستي بوده است كه براساس 7 عامل، 40 ملاك و 124 نشانگر تدوين شد. كيفيت گروه مورد مطالعه با استفاده از روش‎هاي آماري توصيفي تحليل شد. يافته‌‌ها: بخش دروندادها با ميانگين 25/2 در وضعيت نسبتاً مطلوب، بخش فرآيندها با ميانگين40/2 در وضعيت مطلوب و بخش بروندادها با ميانگين 2 در وضعيت نسبتاً مطلوب است. گروه به‌‌طوركلي در وضعيت نسبتاً مطلوب قرار دارد. نتيجه‌‌گيري: مطالعه حاضر، همسو با ساير مطالعات و متون تخصصي تاييد كرد كه استفاده از الگوي ارزيابي دروني به دليل نگاه جامع آن به عوامل تاثيرگذار بر كيفيت گروه‎هاي آموزشي و مشاركت اعضاي هييت علمي در فرآيند ارزيابي، مي‎تواند جنبه‎هاي كيفيت نظام دانشگاهي را باز نمايد و به افزايش احساس تعهد و مسيوليت‎ اعضاي هييت علمي به ارزيابي و افزايش كيفيت منجر شود و مبنايي براي برنامه‎ريزي‎هاي راهبردي و عملياتي گروه شود. براساس نتايج، پيشنهادهاي كاربردي و پژوهشي براي بهبود كيفيت گروه ارايه شده است.

Purpose: The model of internal evaluation for assessing factors and indicators affecting quality in the Library and Information Science Department of Tarbiat Moallem University of Tehran has been employed in this research. Design/Methodology/Approach: This research is descriptive and evaluative. The studied population includes faculty members, heads of departments, students, alumni, employers of alumni, and library officials. The data have been used in four subpopulations without sampling, including faculty members, students, department head, and library officials and two subpopulations with convenience sampling i.e. alumni and employers. The data collection tools were questionnaires, interviews and a checklist which had been prepared based on 7 factors, 40 criteria, and 124 indicators. The Quality of the studied department was analyzed using descriptive analytic methods. Findings: The incomes section, with an average of 2.25, is in a relatively favorable condition, the processes part, with an average of 2.40, is in a favorable condition and the outcomes section, with an average of 2, is in a relatively favorable condition. The group is generally in a relatively favorable condition. Conclusion: This study, in line with other studies and specialized texts, confirmed that using the internal evaluation model, due to its comprehensive look at the factors affecting academic departments and the collaboration of faculty members in the process of evaluation, can show the aspects of the quality of the academic system and it can lead to an increase in the feeling of responsibility of the faculty members towards evaluation and improving quality and become a basis for strategic and functional planning of the department. Based on the results, applied and research suggestions have been proposed for improving the quality of departments
