The study of Mysticism in the works of Contemporary Orientalists

آنه ماري شيمل به عنوان واسطه اسلام و غرب، پژوهش هاي بسياري در خصوص عرفان و تصوّف داشته است. او از ديدگاه انساني مومن و دانشگاهي به آثار عرفاني مي نگريست. «هلموت ريتر» با مطالعه و تدبّر در نسخ قديمي و هم چنين پديد آوردن كتاب كم نظير «درياي جان»، عشق و ارادت خود را به وادي سير و سلوك عارفانه ايراني- اسلامي بيان كرده است. فريتس ماير نيز با كشف زواياي نهفته و دور از چشم ديگر پژوهشگران، آن چنان از زندگي بها ولد پرده بر داشته كه او را براي هميشه از سايه پسرش مولانا جلال الدين جدا ساخته و در پژوهشي كه مدّت ده سال طول كشيده، زندگي و خطّ سير فكري و عرفاني ابوسعيد ابوالخير را به جامعه عرفان پژوه تقديم كرده است.

The present study investigates the works of some contemporary orientalists who have conducted broad scientific evidentiary studies on mysticism. As a mediator between Islam and the West, Annemarie Schimmel did extensive studies on mysticism, looking through the lens of a believer and an academician. Hellmut Ritter’s studies on old manuscripts and the collection of Daryaye Jan are an indication of his devotion to and love of Iranian-Islamic mysticism. Fritz Meier revealed the hidden aspects of Baha Valad’s life and released him from being overshadowed by his son, Molana Jalaluddin. A decade of research on the life and thought of Abu-Saeed Abolkheir was his invaluable contribution to mystic studies. The elaborative and refinery studies of theses researchers, along with their exemplary knowledge and scientific courage, introduced to the world a great part of Persian mysticism and literary treasure.
