ملاصدرا با اين تلقي كه كلام: انشا چيزي است كه بر ضمير و نهان متكلم دلالت مي‌كند، اظهار مي‌دارد كه كلام الهي شامل موجودات و افعال خداوند مي‌شود؛ پس اطلاق كلمه و كلام برجهان آفرينش صحيح است و خداوند هم به اين اعتبار متكلم است. صدرالمتالهين، مراتب سه‌گانه كلام الهي را تبيين و بر اين نظر است كه كلام اعلي، عالم امر؛ كلام اوسط، عالم نفس و كلام نازل، عالم تشريع است. از نظرگاه صدرايي، اما مي‌توان هر كلامي را به نحوي كتاب و هر كتابي را كلام شمرد، پس كتابت الهي نيز بر مراتب سه‌گانه است، و خداوند در سه مرحله همان‌طور كه متكلم است كاتب هم است. نكته ديگر در تفاوت كلام و كتاب است، كه نه در رتبه؛ بلكه دو چهره از يك واقعيت‌اند، كلام مربوط به چهره وجوب و مبدا فاعلي و كتاب مربوط به چهره امكان و مبدا قابلي است و تناسب هر دو در اين است كه هر دو جنبه آيت و نشانه داشته، مبدا و غايت كلام و كتاب هر دوعالم عقل است.

Mulla sadra treated logos (Kalam) as something that expresses the inside of the speaker, and explained that divine logos includes God’s creatures and Godʹs action, therefore applying the word and logos to the universe is true, and according to the definition, God is speaker. Mulla Sadra explains the divine logos and command in three steps: superior logos i.e. the world of Amr, middle logos i.e. the world of soul, and the inferior logos is the revelation or the world of legislation. But from Sadraean point of view, one can consider every word as a book, and every book as a word; so writing of God consists of three steps. In each step, God is the speaker and at the same time is the writer. Another point is the difference between the word and the scripture. They are two different sides of one coin .The word is about the necessity and returns to creator and the book refers to possibility and then to creatures. These two have congruency and symbolic aspects, Origin and end of the word and book is the world of intellect.
