نهادگرايي وبلن چالشي در برابر بنيان‌هاي روش‌شناختي و نظري علم اقتصاد محمود مشهدي‌احمد* تاريخ دريافت: 20/6/ 1392 تاريخ پذيرش: 27/2/1393 چكيده مي‌توان از وبلن به‌عنوان اصلي‌ترين شخصيت و بنيان‌گذار مكتب نهادگرايي نام برد؛ كسي كه با مطالعات خط‌شكنانه خود، تمام سنت‌هاي فكري و فلسفي اواخر قرن نوزدهم و اوايل قرن بيستم را در حوزه اقتصاد متحول ساخت. نفوذ علمي وبلن به حدي زياد است كه هنوز هم در كانون توجه و مطالعات اقتصاددانان قرار دارد. نظر به نقش بي‌بديل وبلن در شكل‌گيري اقتصاد نهادگرا، در اين مقاله سعي مي‌شود به‌طور مشخص جنبه‌هاي مختلف آرا و تفكرات او مورد بررسي قرار گيرد. در واقع، نكته مهم و مورد نظر اين است كه نظريه‌ها و ايده‌هاي اصلي اين انديشمند بزرگ چه بوده است؟ او چه چيز اقتصاد مرسوم را ناكافي مي‌دانسته كه سعي در بنا كردن مكتبي به نام اقتصاد نهادگرا داشته است؟ رويكرد روش‌شناختي او به علم اقتصاد چه بوده است؟ اين رويكرد چه تحولي در اين حوزه از معرفت بشري به‌وجود آورده است؟ بينش خاص وبلن باعث مي‌شود چنين پرسش‌هايي در ارتباط با انديشه‌هاي او از اهميت بسيار زيادي برخوردار شوند، زيرا در تاريخ انديشه‌هاي علم اقتصاد، او شديدترين حملات را به مباني معرفت‌شناختي و روش‌شناختي اقتصاد مرسوم انجام داد. در اين راستا، اين مقاله ضمن توجه به پرسش‌هاي يادشده، تعدادي از مهم‌ترين دستاوردهاي وبلن را مورد بررسي قرار مي‌دهد و برخي از نو‌آوري‌هاي معرفت‌شناسانه، روش‌شناسانه و نظري او را شناسايي و ارايه مي‌كند. طبقه‌بندي JEL: B13, B52, B15. كليدواژه‌ها: وبلن، اقتصاد نهادگرا، روش‌شناسي، معرفت‌شناسي، اقتصاد مرسوم، عليت تجمعي.

Veblenʹs Institutionalism A Challenge Against Methodological and Theoretical Foundations of Economics Mahmoud Mashhadi-ahmad Date Received: 11 Sep 2013 Date Accepted: 17 May 2014 Abstract Veblen was one of the most famous founding fathers of institutionalism who, with his pioneering studies, revolutionized economics in all its intellectual and philosophical traditions of the late nineteenth and early twentieth century. His scientific works were so influential that there are still a lot of endeavors to find out his viewpoints. Considering the unparalleled role of him in the development of institutional economics, this paper will specifically study different aspects of his ideas and thoughts. In fact, the important point is that what are the main theories and ideas of this great savant? What aspects of conventional economics were insufficient that encouraged him to build a school with the name of institutional economics? What was his methodological approach to economics? What kind of transformations this approach has created in the scope of economic knowledge? Veblenʹs unique vision makes such questions regarding his thoughts as considerable important ones. For, in the history of economic thought, his attack to epistemological and methodological foundations of conventional economics is one of the most serious ones. In this context, this paper will address the above questions, and scrutinize a few aspects of his important achievements and will represent some of the epistemological, methodological and theoretical innovations of his works.
