در این مقاله فصل اول الكتاب، اثر سیبویه، در مطالعة دانش زبان بررسی می‌شود. در این بررسی، نخست ترجمة فارسی این فصل ارائه می‌شود. پس از آن، برخی از مطالب این فصل، با تمركز بر اصطلاح‌های به‌كار رفته در متن اثر و با بهره‌گیری از ابزارهای نظری زبان‌شناسی معاصر، به روش تجزیه و تحلیل مفهومی شرح داده می‌شود. در این پژوهش، مقایسه‌ای میان مفاهیم این فصل از الكتاب و مفاهیم دستور نقش‌گرای نظام‌مند هلیدی انجام می‌شود. همچنین مفاهیم این فصل از الكتاب با برخی از نظریات ابونصر فارابی و ابن سینا سنجیده می‌شود. حاصل این بررسی تطبیقی دست‌یابی به مؤلفه‌هایی است كه شاید بتواند معرف سنت فكری دانشمندان ایرانی در حوزة مطالعة دانش زبان باشد.

In this article, the first chapter of Sibawayh’s book, al-Kitāb devoted to the linguisticscience is reviewed. In this research, the Persian translation of this chapter is firstprovided. Then, some of the contents of this chapter are described with conceptualanalysis method, focusing on the terminology used in the text and using theoreticaltools of moden linguistics. In this study, a comparison is made between the concepts ofthis chapter of al-Kitāb and the concepts of Halliday’s Systemic Functional Grammar.Some theories of Farabi and Avecina are also compared with the content of thischapter. As a result of this comparative study, components which may be representingthe intellectual tradition of Iranian scholars in the field of language study are achieved.
