The obstacles of clinical education and strategies for the improvement of quality of education at Arak University of Medical Sciences in 2008

موانع آموزش باليني و ارايه راهكارها در جهت ارتقا كيفيت آموزش در دانشكده پزشكي دانشگاه علوم پزشكي اراك 1387

چكيده زمينه و هدف: شناسايي مسايل موجود در آموزش باليني و اقدام براي اصلاح آن موجب ارتقا كيفيت خدمات پزشكي خواهد گرديد. اين پژوهش نيز در اين راستا انجام شد. مواد و روش ها: در اين مطالعه توصيفي در سال 1387 ديدگاه كليه كارآموزان و كارورزان پزشكي كه حداقل 2 بخش باليني ماژور را در دانشگاه علوم پزشكي اراك گذرانده بودند از طريق پرسش‌نامه 56 سيوالي پيرامون موانع از6 بعد مكان‌هاي آموزش، امكانات محيط آموزشي، روش هاي ارزشيابي، شيوه‌هاي ياددهي، همكاري پرسنل بهداشتي درماني و نيز نحوه برنامه‌ريزي آموزش باليني مورد ارزيابي قرار گرفت. يافته ها: وضعيت آموزش باليني از ديدگاه كارآموزان و كارورزان پزشكي به ترتيب با ميانگين 41 و 48 درصد در حد متوسط ارزيابي گرديد. كارآموزان وضعيت روش هاي ارزشيابي باليني را با ميانگين 7/28 درصد و كارورزان با ميانگين 32 درصد وكيفيت استفاده از مكان‌هاي آموزش باليني را به ترتيب با ميانگين 3/29 و 7/31 درصد در حد ضعيف ارزيابي نمودند. وضعيت روش هاي آموزش باليني، امكانات محيط آموزشي، همكاري پرسنل و نيز برنامه آموزش محتواي باليني در حد متوسط ارزيابي شد. نتيجه گيري: اين پژوهش بر تعيين دقيق تجارب يادگيري، به كارگيري روش‌هاي آموزشي مناسب، انجام ارزيابي‌هاي تكويني به طور مستمر، استفاده از محيط‌هاي شبيه سازي شده و مكان‌هاي آموزشي متناسب با شرايط كاري آينده فارغ التحصيلان و ارتقا سطح انگيزش دانشجويان به عنوان استراتژي‌هاي اثر بخش در جهت ارتقا كيفيت آموزش پزشكي تاكيد مي نمايد. واژگان كليدي: آموزش باليني، دانشكده پزشكي، موانع، كيفيت، راهكارها

Abstract Background: Identifying the problems which exist in clinical education and setting to solve them will lead to the improvement of quality of medical care services. This study was conducted to fulfill this goal. Materials and Methods: In this descriptive–analytic research which was carried out in 2008, the views of the medical trainees and interns, who had at least gone through two major clinical courses at Arak University of Medical Sciences, about the obstacles of clinical education were evaluated. For achieving this purpose, a questionnaire containing 56 questions on 6 problem areas including clinical education spaces, educational facilities, cooperation of health and treatment personnel, clinical assessment and teaching methods, and clinical curriculum design methods was administered. Results: The quality of clinical education in the view of 41% of medical trainees and 48% of interns was seen to be at an average level. Assessment methods of clinical education, on the other hand, were rated as weak by 28.7% of trainees and 32% of interns. Also, 29.3% of trainees and 31.7% of interns evaluated the use of educational spaces to be at a weak level. Additionally, the quality of clinical teaching methods, educational facilities, cooperation of health and treatment personnel, and the design of clinical curriculum were seen at an average level. Conclusion: This study highlighted the importance of determining learning experiences, applying proper teaching methods, conducting continuous generative evaluations, using simulated environments and educational spaces congruent with graduates’ future employment opportunities, and enhancing students’ level of motivation, as effective strategies for the improvement of the quality of medical education.
