The Impact of Sin on the End and Function of Reason in al-Ghazaliʹʹs Thought

مساله بسيار مهم تاثيرات معرفتي گناه كه امروزه در حوزه معرفت‌شناسي معاصر مجال طرح يافته است مي تواند از جنبه هاي گو ناگون مورد بررسي قرار گيرد. يكي از اين جنبه ها مربوط به تاثيرات واقعي گناه در عامل كسب معرفت، و ديگري مربوط به ارتباطي است كه انسان با خداوند به منزله افاضه كننده معرفت دارد. در اين مقاله جنبه نخست را به روش تحليلي، آن هم از ديد غزالي، دنبال مي كنيم. اين تاثير هم تاثيري بنيادين در غايت و كاركرد عقل است و هم تاثير در فرآيند و فرآورده كسب معرفت؛ ما در اينجا تنها به تاثير گناه در غايت و كاركرد عقل، در سه حيث تاثير در غايت وجودي عقل، تاثير در چگونگي روي‌كردن عقل به حقايق، و تاثير در احساس و اراده ناظر به درك و دريافت حقيقت مي‌پردازيم. تاثير گناه در فرآيند معرفت و فرآورده آن محل بحث اين مقاله نخواهد بود.

The important issue of epistemic impacts of sin which has proposed in contemporary epistemology may be studied from different aspects.One of these aspects is related to the actual impacts which sin causes in the securer of knowledge and the other, to the relation between human being and God as the emanator of knowledge. In this article we trace the first aspect in an analytic method from al-Ghazali’s viewpoint.This impact is a fundamental impact in the end and function of reason and also in the process of knowledge and its product. Here we only discuss the impact of sin in the end and function of reason in its three aspects: the impact of sin on the existential end of reason, its impact on the quality of turning reason towards the truth, and its influence on the emotion and the will related to the comprehension of truth. The impact of sin on the process of knowledge and its product won’t be discussed in this article.
