تامين امنيت ملي و اداره سرزمين مهم‌ترين و پايه‌اي‌ترين اصل هر نظام سياسي است. در اين راستا، تقسيمات فضايي عالي‌ترين راهكار جهت اداره سرزمين و حفظ يكپارچگي و تقويت همبستگي دروني و نهايتاً افزايش ضريب امنيت ملي است. توجه به اصل همگني فرهنگي در بحث تقسيمات فضا تاثير شگرفي بر بهبود كاركرد منطقه‌بندي فضايي دارد. در صورت عدم رعايت اين اصل در يك منطقه همگن فرهنگي، نظام سياسي بايد شاهد وقوع گسست فرهنگي و نسلي در قلمرو خود باشد. تحقيق حاضر را به لحاظ روش‌شناسي مي‌توان در زمره تحقيقات توصيفي و همبستگي طبقه‌بندي كرد، زيرا از يكسو به دنبال بررسي و توصيف وضعيت موجود بوديم و از سوي ديگر به دنبال بررسي ارتباط بين دو متغير تقسيمات فضايي و گسست فرهنگي. با استفاده از دو روش اسنادي (كتابخانه‌اي، فيش‌برداري، سايت‌هاي اينترنتي) و ميداني (مشاهده و مصاحبه با مردم منطقه) و بهره‌گيري از بسته نرم‌افزاري آمار استنباطي SPSS اطلاعات جمع‌آوري و تجزيه و تحليل شد. يافته‌هاي پژوهش مشخص كرد كه عدم رعايت شاخص‌ها در فرايند تقسيمات فضايي منجر به انفكاك و گسست فرهنگي مي‌شود كه رابطه مستقيم و باواسطه‌اي بين تقسيمات فضا و گسست فرهنگي وجود دارد. نتايج حاصل از آزمون One-Sample Test نشان‌دهنده اين مطلب بود كه تقسيمات فضايي با ايجاد انفكاك فرهنگي، گسست فرهنگي را در پي داشته كه اين امر در شهر فاروج از شدت بيشتري برخوردار بوده است.
