The Effect of Economic, Political and Civil Freedom on Migration (By Emphasizing on Brain Drain)

هدف اصلي اين مطالعه بررسي تاثير آزادي اقتصادي و سياسي بر جريان بين‌المللي مهاجرت (با تاكيد بر مهاجرت نخبگان) از كشورهاي در حال توسعه منتخب به ايالات متحده آمريكا طي دوره زماني 1996-2009 با رهيافت پانل ديتا مي‌باشد. يافته‌‌هاي مطالعه حاكي است شاخص آزادي اقتصادي و فقدان آزادي سياسي و مدني تاثير منفي و معناداري بر جريان مهاجرت و مهاجرت نخبگان دارد. همچنين متغير انباشت مهاجرت نخبگان به‌طور مثبت و معنادار مهاجرت و مهاجرت نخبگان را تحت تاثير قرار مي‌‌دهد. متغير نرخ بيكاري دانش‌آموختگان دانشگاهي بر جريان مهاجرت تاثير بي‌‌معنا و بر مهاجرت نخبگان تاثير مثبت و معنادار دارد. همچنين شاخص توسعه انساني نيز بر كل مهاجرت و مهاجرت نخبگان تاثير منفي و معناداري دارد.

The main propose of this study is to investigate the effect of economic, political and civil freedom on international migration from selected developing countries to the united States (by emphasizing on brain drain) during the period of 1996-2009 by panel data approach. Study findings showed there is a significant negative relationship between the economic freedom and total migration and brain drain. The lack of political and civil freedom has negative and significant effect on total migration and brain drain. Also the stockpiling of migration and brain drain affect positively and significantly on migration and brain drain. The effect of unemployment rate of university graduates on migration and brain drain is respectively non-significant and positive and significant. Human development index also has negative and significant effect on migration and brain drain.
