چكيده منطقه خليج فارس داراي عوامل متعدد ژيوپوليتيكي است و با توجه به شرايط خاص منطقه برخي از آنها داراي اهميت و حساسيت مضاعفي هستند كه بر روي تصميمات دولتمردان منطقه و جهان تاثيرات جدي گذاشته و خواهد گذاشت. اين مقاله با بررسي عوامل ژيوپوليتيكي خليج فارس و تنگه هرمز، نظريه‌ها و ديدگاه‌هاي مربوط به بازدارندگي و ويژگي‌هاي نيروهاي بازدارنده، تاثير عوامل ژيوپوليتيكي را بر بازدارندگي از وقوع يك منازعه گسترده در خليج فارس مورد بررسي قرار مي‌دهد. با توجه به تاثير مخرب يك منازعه گسترده در خليج فارس بر روي عوامل ژيوپوليتيكي مورد استفاده كشورهاي منطقه و از بين رفتن منافع حياتي كشورها و دولت‌هاي منطقه، در يك محاسبه منطقي، اين عوامل باعث بازدارندگي كشورهاي منطقه از ايجاد يك منازعه گسترده مي‌گردد، ليكن دخالت قدرت‌هاي خارجي كه منافع حياتي آنها به روش‌هاي ديگري تامين مي‌گردد و همچنين محاسبات غير منطقي مي‌تواند باعث بروز منازعه اي گسترده و ويرانگر در منطقه خليج فارس گردد.

Role and Position of Geopolitical Elements in All- out Deterrence Vahid Fatahi Date ofacceptance:Nov.12,2012 Date of Acceptance: Sept.10,2012 Abstract The Islamic Republic of Iran (I.R.I) has various geopolitical deterrent elements and some of them have double importance and sensitivity given the particular conditions of the region which had impacted and will impact on the decisions of world and regional statesmen seriously. Through reviewing the geopolitical deterrent elements in Persian Gulf and Hormoz Strait, the views and theories related to deterrence and characteristics of deterrent forces, this paper examines the impacts of geopolitical elements on deterrence of occurrence widespread conflict in Persian Gulf. Given the adverse effect of a widespread conflict in Persian Gulf on the geopolitical elements used by regional countries and destruction of vital interests of regional governments and countries, these elements in a logical estimation cause deterrence of regional countries from creating a widespread conflict. But interference of foreign powers which their interests are maintained in other ways and illogical estimations could lead to a destructive and widespread conflict in Persian Gulf region.
