اين نوشتار در پنج جز اول قرآن به بررسي عبارات و معاني محذوف مي‌پردازد كه بايد براي فهم دقيق معني آيه در ترجمه لحاظ گردند. ترجمه عبارات و معاني محذوف در ترجمه هاي قرآن به سه بخش قابل تقسيم است: بخش اول عبارات و معاني محذوفي كه اگر توضيح داده نشود، معنا فهميده شده و خللي در معني ايجاد نمي‌شود. بخش دوم عبارات و معاني محذوفي هستند كه اگر توضيح داده نشود، ارتباط قطع نمي‌گردد ولي فهم و بلاغت مطلب مبهم باقي مي‌ماند. بخش سوم بحث اصلي مقاله است و درباره آن دسته از معاني و عبارات محذوفي است كه اگر توضيح داده نشود، فهم مقصود آيه مقدور نيست و مفاد آيه گنگ باقي مي ماند. در اين مقاله چگونگي ترجمه عبارات و معاني محذوف در هفت ترجمه شامل سه ترجمه از ترجمه هاي كهن قرآن در قرن پنجم و ششم هجري، يك ترجمه منظوم و ادبي قرآن و سه ترجمه نثر معاصر بررسي و دسته بنديهايي از آنها ارايه شده است.
