نظريّه‌ي اخلاقي زاگزبسكي: نظريّه‌ي فضيلت‌مدار الگوگرا

Zagzebskiʹʹs Moral Theory: Exemplarist Virtue Theory

ليندا زاگزبسكي در نظريّه‌ي فضيلت‌مدار الگوگرا گونه‌ي جديدي از نظريّه‌ي اخلاقي مبناگرا را عرضه مي‌كند كه در آن اشخاص الگو پايه‌اي‌ترين مولّفه‌ي اخلاقي در نظر گرفته مي‌شوند. او در اين نظريّه تلاش دارد تا تمام مفاهيم بنيادي اخلاق از جمله نتيجه‌ي خوب و فعل صواب را از راه ارجاع مستقيم به شخص الگوي خوب تعريف كند. يكي از مهم‌ترين پيامدهاي اين نظريّه در پسيني دانستن گزاره‌هاي اخلاقي نهفته است كه اين امر سبب توجّه ويژه‌ي اين نظريّه به اخلاق روايي مي‌شود. زاگزبسكي در اين نظريّه با تاكيد بر نقش برجسته‌ي عواطف در حوزه‌ي اخلاق نشان مي‌دهد كه شخص الگوي خوب را بايد از راه حسّ عاطفي تحسين و تمجيد شناسايي كرد. او براي پيش‌برد اين ديدگاه خود، عاطفه را ادراكي معرّفي مي‌كند كه هم داراي حيث شناختي و هم داراي حيث ترغيبي است. از آن‌جا كه اين نظريّه بر كشش و جذابيّت خوبي مبتني است، مي‌تواند بنيان گيرا و جذّابي را براي اخلاق فراهم آورد و از همين روست كه زاگزبسكي اين نظريّه را برتر و موجّه‌تر از نظريّات ديگر اخلاقي به شمار مي‌آورد. در اين مقاله تلاش كرده‌ايم تا گزارش مختصري از نظريّه‌ي اخلاقي زاگزبسكي بدست دهيم و ديدگاه فلاسفه‌ي ديگر را نسبت به اين نظريه بيان كنيم.

Linda Zagzebski presents a new kind of foundational moral theory in her exemplarist virtue theory which exemplary persons have considered as the foundation. In this theory all of the basic moral concepts such as good ends and right acts are defined by direct reference to paradigmatically good person. One of the most important consequences of this theory is that moral propositions are a posteriori and because of that the theory gives special attention to narrative ethics. By emphasizing the significant functions of emotions in morality, Zagzebski tries to show that paradigmatically good persons are identified by the emotion of admiration. She believes that the emotion is a kind of perception that has both cognitive and affective aspects. Since this theory is based on the attractiveness of the good, it can provide an attractive foundation for ethics. Because of this matter, Zagzebski considers this theory better and more justifiable than other moral theories. This article seeks to give a brief review of Zagzebskiʹs moral theory, express the considerations of other philosophers about her theory and in the end show the important problems that undermine the justifiability and acceptability of it.
