The Role of the Kufids in the Ruling System of Imam Ali (Peace be Upon Him)

مردم كوفه در طول خلافت اميرالمومنين علي(ع) نقش مهمي در تاريخ خلافت اسلامي ايفا نمودند. مسيله اساسي كه در اين پژوهش مورد توجه قرار گرفته است شناخت دلايل حمايت اهل كوفه از امام(ع) در برهه‌هايي از خلافت وي و بررسي عوامل تداوم نيافتن آن توسّط گروه‌هايي از مردم اين شهر است. سوالات پژوهش عبارتند از: 1- تداوم نيافتن حمايت از امام(ع)، ريشه در چه عواملي داشت؟ 2- آيا عدالت امام با مناسبات اجتماعي – اقتصادي موجود، هماهنگي داشت؟ 3- نقش رهبران شيعه و متقابلاً اشراف كوفه در روابط اهل كوفه با امام چه بود؟ مدّعاي اساسي مقاله در اين نكته است كه تداوم نظام اجتماعي جاهلي قبايل، تكيه بر رهبري اشراف، بي‌توجهي به ولايت و رهبري امام و نبود انسجام لازم در شهر كوفه، در نهايت موجب شد تا تلاش‌هاي اميرالمومنين و يارانش در كوفه با مشكلات متعدّدي مواجه شود و اين روند، منتهي به شهادت امام شود.

The people of Kufa played an important role in the ruling term of Ali (Peace be upon Him) and the Islamic government in general. The major point of concern in this study is the reason for the support given to Imam Ali (Peace be upon Him) and in some phases of his caliphate the discontinuity and hiatus of this support by some people of Kufa the main questions in this study are as follows: 1-What were the main causes of the discontinuity of the people’s support for Imam Ali (Peace be upon Him)? 2- Was Imams justice in harmony with the economic and social conditions of his time? 3- What were the roles of the Shiite leaders and the aristocrats of Kufa in the manipulation of the people’s relations with Imam? The present paper asserts that the persistence of the social system of J?heliah and the manners of the tribe, the pivotal role of the aristocrats in respect for the leadership of the Imam and finally the existence of controversies in the city of kufa brought a great deal of challenges for the Imam and his followers and finally led to his martyrdom .
