Political Psychology of Mohammadreza Pahlavi Based on Karen Horneyʹʹs Theory

برخي از ضروري‌ترين سوالات سياسي در‌خصوص اشخاص، نهادها و نظام سياسي به حوزه روان‌شناسي مربوط مي‌شوند و بسياري از محققان با اتخاذ اين رويكرد، به بررسي ابعاد شخصيت و روان‌كاوي رهبران سياسي براي تحليل و بررسي وضعيت گذشته، حال و آينده روي آوردند. نگارنده با تطبيق نظريه روان‌شناسي كارن هورناي بر رفتار محمدرضا پهلوي، بر اين باور است كه عوامل ناهمگون محيطي و اجتماعي دوران كودكي محمدرضا شاه، و نگرش سلطه‌گرايانه و فقدان حمايت و محبت در زندگي منجر به شكل‌گيري راون‌رنجوري و اضطراب اساسي وي شد و شخصيت نابهنجار متاثر از گذشته باعث شد تا در دوره حكومت، با خودشيفتگي، تملق‌دوستي و عقده خودبزرگ‌بيني، به‌دنبال سلطه بر ديگران باشد. در‌نهايت، ضعف شخصيتي وي باعث شد كه نتواند با بهره‌گيري از قدرت موجود داخلي و حمايت‌هاي خارجي، نظام شاهنشاهي پهلوي را از فروپاشي نجات دهد.

Some of the most essential political questions about people, institutions and political systems are related to psychology. Many of the researchers use this approach to consider the personality dimensions. They psychoanalyze political leaders in order to analyze the past, present and future conditions. From this point of view, through comparing Karenʹs psychological theory and Mohammadreza Pahlaviʹs behaviors, we believe that different environmental and social factors of his childhood, as a result of lack of support and love, led to neurosis and anxiety. So his personality led to a ruling full of narcissism, like of otherʹs flattering behaviors and megalomania and so being after dominance over others. At last his personality weakness made him unable to use the existing national power and foreign support in order to save his imperial power.
