Paradigm and its Effect on Political Sciences Based on Cohenʹʹs Views

مطرح‌كردن پارادايم به‌منزله باورها و ارزش‌هايي كه اعضاي جامعه علمي در آن با يكديگر شريك‌اند و نيز در حكم سرمشقي كه به حل معماها مي‌پردازد، به نقد ديدگاه‌هاي رقيب، يعني اثبات‌گرايي و تجربه‌گرايي، پرداخته است. از سوي ديگر، انديشمندان علوم سياسي، با استفاده از پارادايمِ كوهني، اولاً به پراكندگي مطالعات و فقدان يك پارادايم اشاره‌ و سعي كرده‌اند تا با استفاده از مفهوم پاراديم به علمي‌شدن سياست بپردازند و ثانياً برخي نيز با توجه به آراي كوهن به انديشه سياسي پرداخته‌اند، يعني نظريه سياسي برآمده از بحران‌هاي سياسي است. در نقد اين ديدگاهِ انديشمندان علوم سياسي مي‌توان گفت آنان به‌ جاي توجه به بي‌قاعد‌گي‌هاي انديشه و علم، به واقعيت اجتماعي وسياسي توجه كرده‌اند. در‌واقع، تغيير در علم هنجاري ناشي از تغييرات در جهان اجتماع و سياست است و نه خودِ علم هنجاري.

The present paper deals with Cohenʹs paradigm and its effect on political sciences. Cohen has criticized opposing views of positivism and empiricism through introducing paradigm as the beliefs and values the members of a scientific society share. On the other hand the theoreticians of political sciences use Cohenʹs paradigm to refer to the diversity of the studies and the lack of one unique paradigm. So, they have tried to make politics a science. Some has used his ideas to develop a sort of political thinking, i.e. the political theory comes from political crisis. In order to criticize their view instead of dealing with the irregularities of opinions and science, we can say they have paid attention to the social and political realities. In fact, change of normative science is a result of changes in the worlds of society and politics and not the normative science itself.
