World cities and new geopolitical maps

همزمان با شتاب گرفتن فرايند «جهاني شدن» به خصوص «جهاني شدن اقتصاد» گروهي از انديشمندان دست به نظريه پردازي هاي جديد زده و مدعي اين مطلب شدند كه فرايند جهاني شدن اهميت «مكان ها» را از بين برده و «فاصله و مرز» ديگر معنايي ندارد. آنها مدعي شدند (جغرافيا ديگر مرده است) و «نقشه هاي جغرافيايي» چندان در دنياي جديد كارآمد نيستند. در پاسخ به اين نظرات، جغرافيدانان زيادي دست به انجام يك سري تحقيقات انتقادي و تدوين مقالاتي در نقد اين ادعا زدند. يكي از اين كارها تهيه «نقشه هاي جديد ژيوپليتيكي» است. در اين پژوهش با استفاده از روش توصيفي ـ تحليلي و با استفاده از منابع كتابخانه اي و رايانه اي به اين مسيله پرداخته شد كه جهاني شدن چه تاثيري روي نقشه ژيوپليتيكي داشته و آيا جهاني شدن، نقش جغرافيا و نقشه هاي سياسي را كمرنگ كرده است. همانطور كه مي دانيم شهرها در عرصه جهاني شدن خارج از مرزهاي سياسي خود به نقش آفريني هاي جديدي دست زدند و گاه اهميتي فراتر از حكومت هاي خود پيدا كردند. «نقشه هاي جديد ژيوپليتيكي» بجاي تمركز روي كشورها و مرزهاي واقعي به سمت نقشه هايي رفته كه به ترسيم «روابط شهرها» توجه مي كند و در آن مرزهاي واقعي چندان اهميتي ندارد. در اين راستا كارهاي ارزنده اي انجام گرفته كه يكي از آنها كار تيلور و همكارانش است. در «نقشه هاي جديد ژيوپليتيكي» تمركز روي ارتباطات بين شهرها در سراسر جهان است. ترسيم ارتباطات شهرهاي سراسر جهان به بازنمايي جديد از «فضاي اقتصاد جهاني جريان ها» كمك مي كند كه تكميل كننده و نه جايگزين «فضاي سياسي بين المللي مكان ها» هستند. به عبارتي ديگر نقشه هاي جديد جريان هاي اقتصادي شهرهاي جهاني تنها مكملي براي نقشه سياسي بين المللي كشورها هستند كه براي فهم تغييرات اجتماعي جديد تحت شرايط جهاني شدن يك چهارچوب فضايي مناسب را فراهم مي آورند.

At the same time accelerating the process of “globalization” in particular “economic globalization”, a group of scientists made new theories and claimed that this process of globalization has destroyed “locations”, and “boundary and distance” don’t have meaning further. They claimed (geography is dead) and “geographical maps” are not effective in the modern world. In response to these comments, many geographers have developed a series of critical research and review articles on these trails. One of the things is production of the “new geopolitical map”. A descriptive-analytical approach has been used in the current survey. Moreover, reasoning and logical analysis have been applied to analyze the findings and draw the final conclusion that what impact does globalization have on the geopolitical map and whether globalization is undermining the role of geography and political maps. As we know, the cities are playing the new roles outside of their political boundaries in the area of globalization and sometimes get more importance beyond their governments. “The new geopolitical maps”, instead of focusing on the countries and the actual boundaries used to draw the maps “of cities” and according to it doesnʹt matter the real boundaries. In this direction, valuable work has been done, one of which is the work of Taylor and his colleagues. The “new geopolitical map,” focuses on the relationship between worldwide cities. Relations of cities depiction around the world helps to create a new representation of the “space of flows global economy” that completes the “political space of locations”. In other words, new maps economic currents of the global cities are only a supplement to the political map of countries that provide a framework suitable space to understand the social changes under conditions of globalization.
