Security Consequences of Gas Discovery in the East Mediterranean

اين مقاله در پي پاسخ به اين پرسش است كه كشف گاز چه تاثيري بر تغيير معادلات قدرت در منظومه امنيتي مديتراني شرقي و غرب آسيا داشته است؟ با عنايت به اهميت انرژي در امنيت اسراييل و شكل‌دهي به منظومه امنيتي مناطق يادشده، كشف گاز در مديترانه شرقي باعث ارتقاي جايگاه رژيم صهيونيستي در منظومه امينيت منطقه شده و اين رژيم سعي دارد تا از گاز به عنوان ابزاري براي دستيابي به اهداف منطقه‌اي خود استفاده نمايد. به طور كلي كشف گاز سومين منبع تنش را در كنار دو منبع ديگر يعني زمين و آب، به منابع تنش منطقه‌اي اضافه نموده است. كشف گاز در سرزمين‌هاي اشغالي باعث شده تا رژيم صهيونيستي به منظور حفظ وابستگي فلسطيني‌ها نه تنها مانع از دستيابي به منابع گازي آنها شود، بلكه با عقد قرارداد فروش گاز، وابستگي فلسطيني‌ها را به خود شدت بخشد. از طرف ديگر، اين امر تشديد تنش بين اسراييل و لبنان را در پي داشته است و هم‌زمان باعث تشكيل ايتلاف‌هاي جديد منطقه‌اي شده است. با عنايت به ظرفيت بالاي ايران در تامين انرژي مورد نياز كشورهاي پيرامون اين رژيم، اسراييل سعي دارد تا با استفاده از ابزار جديد خود يعني گاز، جلو وابستگي احتمالي كشورهاي پيرامون خود و همچنين شركاي غربي‌اش به منابع گازي ايران را بگيرد، اما با توجه به ذخاير عظيم گازي ايران، در صورت توجه جدي جمهوري اسلامي ايران به اين موضوع، به‌ويژه در شرايط پساتحريم، اسراييل قادر نخواهد شد تا از گاز به عنوان ابزاري براي اهداف منطقه‌اي خود به‌ويژه در برابر ايران استفاده نمايد.

This article tries to answer the question that what has been the impact of gas discovery on change in power equations in Western Asian and Eastern Mediterranean security constellation? Given the importance of energy in Israelʹs security and in the formation of a security constellation in these regions, gas discovery in the East Mediterranean has enhanced the status of the Zionist regime in the regional security constellation and this regime tries to exploit gas as a means for obtaining its regional goals. Generally, gas discovery is the third source of tension in the region along with the two others that are territory and water. Oil discovery in occupied territories has resulted in the policy adopted by Zionist regime to prevent Palestinians from having access to gas resources in order to increase their dependence on that regime through concluding gas sale contracts. On the other hand, this has fuelled tension between Israel and Lebanon and simultaneously has led to the formation of new regional coalitions. Given Iranʹs high capacity for meeting the energy needs of countries surrounding Israel, this regime tries to prevent the potential dependency of these countries as well as its Western partners on Iranʹs gas resources, but given Iranʹs huge gas resources, in case of Iranʹs serious attention to this issue, especially after removing sanctions, Israel world not be able to use gas as an instrument for reaching its regional goals, especially in confrontation with Iran.
