گرمایش‌جهانی یكی از چالش برانگیزترین پدیده‌های محیطی در سیستم‌های اقلیمی است كه امروزه توجه بسیاری از كشورها را در رابطه‌ با‌ مسائل زمین به خود جلب‌ نموده است. این پدیده، امروزه به دلیل تبدیل شدن به یك عامل در ایجاد فضای رقابت در نظام بین‌الملل، وارد مباحث روابط بین‌الملل و ژئوپولیتیك شده است و آن را كانون مطالعات امنیتی سده‌ی بیست و یكم قرارداده است. مقاله حاضر می‎كوشد پیامدهای گرمایش جهانی و چالش‌های بین‌المللی ناشی از آن را در راستای موقعیت‌ ژئوپولیتیك كشورها و نیز‌ نگرش و موضع‌گیری آن‌ها مورد تجزیه و تحلیل قرار دهد. به همین منظور ابتدا روند تغییرات دما و تراز آب دریا با استفاده از خروجی مدل‎های گردش عمومی جو تحت سناریوهای A و B و با استفاده از مدل MAGICC-SCENGEN شبیه‎‌سازی شد. در گام‌ بعد آثار گرمایش‌جهانی بر سیستم‎های‌ ژئوپولیتیك در نظام بین‌الملل با استفاده از نتایج حاصل از سناریوهای انتشار مورد مطالعه قرار گرفت. نتایج نشان داد تفاوت این سناریوها تا سال 2100 در شدت بیشتر و یا كمتر در تغییرات دمای جهان‌ و یا بالاآمدن سطح آب دریاهاست. به طوری كه كه هر دو سناریو روند افزایشی را مورد تایید قرار دادند. در عین حال برخی مناطق، از درجه آسیب پذیری بیشتری برخوردار خواهند بود و در مجموع توزیع نابرابری را در سطح جهان خواهد داشت. از طرفی این شرایط ارتباط معناداری با موقعیت ژئوپولیتیك كشورها دارد و دیدگاه‌های مختلفی را بر سیاست خارجی كشورها تحمیل نموده است. در این راستا ارائه برخی راهكارها مانند تنظیم نمودن طرح‌های ملی، مدیریت محلی تولید گازهای گلخانه‎ای و...، از جمله راهكارهای ایجاد توازن در آرایش نظام ژئوپولیتیك جهانی خواهد بود.
