Social Science and Philosophy: Confrontation or Coexistence

هدف از اين نوشتار، تحليل نظري نسبت علم اجتماعي و فلسفه است؛ بدين منظور سعي گرديده ضمن بررسي آراي گوناگون و نقد و بررسي آن‌ها، ديدگاهي تلفيقي در تبيين نسبت اين دو معرفت بشري ارائه گردد. براساس بررسي‌هاي انجام‌گرفته، اين نتيجه حاصل گرديده كه بين علم و فلسفه به‌طور عام در اعصار سه‌گانه‌ي تاريخي مورد بررسي به‌جاي جدال، نوعي هم‌زيستي و هم‌گرايي وجود داشته است. در حوزه‌ي علم اجتماعي نيز علي‌رغم فراز و فرودهايي كه درنسبت علم اجتماعي با فلسفه اتفاق افتاده، هم‌زيستي بين اين دو حكم‌فرما بوده است. علم اجتماعي ناگزير است كه به متافيزيك و اپيستمولوژي كه هر دو ساحت‌هايي از فلسفه هستند، نيازمند باشد. اين هم‌بودگي به آن‌جا كشيده شده تا برخي مدعي شوند علم اجتماعي نه‌تنها فلسفه‌زاد و فلسفه‌زي است، بلكه با حوزه‌هايي از قبيل ادبيات و هنر در دهه‌هاي پاياني قرن بيستم ارتباط تنگاتنگي برقرار كرده است.

The purpose of this paper is to provide a theoretical analysis of the relationship between philosophy and social science. It is attempted to study, criticize, and synthesize different ideas and theories regarding the mentioned relationship. The writer concludes that, instead of any confrontation there has been a coexistence and connection between science and philosophy. This holds true concerning the relationship between social science and philosophy.  Unlike all ups and downs in their relationship social science needs metaphysics and epistemology. This goes on the extend that some claim that social science both gives birth to philosophy and is born by philosophy. Furthermore, social science is in close relationship with such as literature and arts in the late decades of the twentieth century
