از نكته‌هاي قابل توجه در انديشه فارابي، تركيب اخلاق و سياست است؛ به‌گونه‌اي‌كه كتاب‌هاي سياسي وي به نام كتاب‌هاي اخلاق و سياست يا اخلاق سياسي ناميده مي شود. وي فلسفه مدني را به دو بخش تقسيم مي‌كند كه يك بخش آن اخلاق مدني است. با توجه به اين مسئله، تأمل در انديشه فارابي به‌منظور فهم زواياي گوناگون اخلاق سياسي بااهميت خواهد بود. خُلق آن چيزي است كه سبب خوب يا بد شدن افعال و احوال نفساني مي شود. هر گاه خلق نيكو كه مربوط به نفس انسان مي گردد، با قوّت ذهن كه مربوط به عقل است همراه شوند، فضيلت پديد مي آيد. وظيفه سياست ترويج اخلاق و عادات و سجايا در جامعه و ميان مردم است و تبيين چگونگي انجام اين مسئله، از مهم ترين وظايف اخلاق سياسي شمرده مي شود. در اين مقاله در كنار توجه به چيستي اخلاق سياسي در انديشه فارابي، به جايگاه اخلاق سياسي و شيوه هاي نهادمند ساختن آن در جامعه و علل تنوع اخلاق سياسي در جوامع گوناگون خواهيم پرداخت و با توجه به كاربرد معنادار تخيل و قوه خيال در انديشه وي، ارتباط اخلاق سياسي را با عالم خيال بررسي خواهيم كرد.

Notes on Farabis thought is combination of ethics and politics in which his political books called the books of ethics and politics or called simply political ethics. He divided civil philosophy into two sections, a section is civil morality. Due to this, reflecting on Farabis political ethics is important in order to understand different perspectives op political ethics. Morality is what makes a good or bad result in carnal acts and conditions. Whenever the good morality that related to the human self to join with the power of the mind that related with the wisdom, there comes to virtue. The task of politics is promoting ethics and habits and virtues in society and among the people and explain how it is made is one of the most important tasks of political ethics. In this paper, in addition to the Quiddity of political morality in the minds of Farabi, discuss the position of political moral and its institutionalized styles in society and so the reasons of diversity of political ethics in various communities. According to the meaningful application of imagination in his thought, its would considered.
