فاصله به معناي پايانه آيات است .برخي خاورشناسان مغرض با استناد به اسماي حسناي خداوند در فواصل برخي آيات، اين شبهه را مطرح و ادعا نموده‌اند كه قرآن كريم مجموعه جملاتي است پراكنده كه بدون هيچ نظم و هماهنگي در كنار هم قرار داد ه شده است. تامل و تدبر در اجزاي كلام الهي از جمله اسماي حسناي الهي در فواصل آيات، ارتباط محكم و شگفت‌انگيز آن‌ها را با محتواي آيات تاييد مي‌نمايد. البته در بسياري از موارد اين ارتباط روشن و آشكار است، ولي در برخي آيات كشف اين ارتباط به تامل و تدبّر نياز دارد. حتّي دقت و تامل در محتوا و سياقِ آيات شبيه به هم و همگون كه فواصل متفاوتي دارد بيانگر نكات و ظرافت‏هايي است كه خود بر زيبايي وشگفتي و اعجاز قرآن مي‏افزايد. افزون بر اين، ترتيب و چينش اين نام‌ها در فواصل و تقديم برخي بر برخي ديگر نيز همراه با نكات بلاغي و زيبايي و ظرافت مي‌باشد كه اين نيز خود بخشي از اعجاز بياني قرآن است.
