Attar Neishabouri’s Theory of Mystical Ethics

در اين نوشتار درصدديم اخلاق عرفاني عطار را در قالب يك نظريه اخلاقي منسجم تبيين سازيم تا براساس آن ملاك تعيين ارزش اخلاقي افعال از نظر وي مشخص شود. بررسي و تامّل در اشعار عطار بيان‌گر آن است كه سه نظريه متعارف اخلاق هنجاري يعني نتيجه گرايي، وظيفه گرايي و فضيلت گرايي از دل آثار او استخراج پذير است، امّا اين سه نظريه هم با برخي مباني خداشناختي و انسان شناختي اخلاق عرفاني عطار و هم با يكديگر سازگار نيستند، ازاين‌رو نمي-توان با ابتناي صرف به هر يك از آن‌ها اخلاق عرفاني عطار را توضيح داد. البتّه با تلفيق سه مفهوم فضيلت، غايت و وظيفه با يكديگر در ذيل فضيلت گرايي اخلاقي مي توانيم براي اخلاق عرفاني عطار نظريه اخلاقي واحد و منسجمي پيشنهاد كنيم.

In this paper, we have tried to clarify theory of mystical ethics of Attar Neishabouri in the context of a coherent ethical theory in order to extract the criteria for determining ethical value of man’s actions in his view. A review on and contemplation into the poetry of Attar shows that the three common theories of normative ethics, i.e. consequentialism, deontology and virtue-orientation can be extracted from his works. These three theories, however, are not compatible with some theistic and anthropological fundamentals of Attar’s mystical ethics on one side, and with one another on the other side. In this sense, we cannot clarify Attar’s mystical ethics merely based on either one of these approaches. However, by juxtaposition of the three concepts of virtue, consequence and duty or obligation under the main category of ethical virtue-orientation we can propose a coherent ethical theory for understanding mystical ethics of Attar.
