The Semantic of the Word Sakinah (Tranquility) Based on the Holy Quran

قرآن كريم در شش آيه، از نزول «سكينه» از سوي خدا بر پيامبر(ص) و مومنان و در آيات ديگري با مشتقات همين واژه از سكينه بودن امور ديگري براي انسان‏ها سخن گفته است. آيا «سكينه» در آيات ششگانه با سكينه‌اي كه از امور ديگر براي انسانها حاصل مي شود از يك سنخ است؟ يا آنكه ميان آنها تفاوت ماهوي وجود دارد؟ اين تحقيق با روش استنادي، تحليلي و با مراجعه به تفاسير و بررسي و نقد آرا مفسِران در باب چيستي حقيقت سكينه، اين نتيجه را در اختيار مي‏گذارد كه سكينه در آيات شش‌گانه، حقيقتي فرامادي است كه تحت شرايط خاص و در موقعيت‏هاي ويژه‏اي بر قلب پيامبر(ص) و مومنان نازل مي‌شود‏ و آثار و نتايج ويژه‏اي را براي آنان در پي دارد. از اين رو سكينه در آيات ششگانه با سكينه‌اي كه از امور ديگر حاصل مي‏شود تفاوت ماهوي دارد.

In six verses of the holy Quran, it has been spoken of Allah’s sending down of Sakinah (tranquility) to the Prophet and believers. In other Quranic verses some derivatives of the same word have been used to show some other pacifying things also. The question of the paper, therefore, is: Whether or not the tranquility mentioned in the six versus the same as that of the other pacifying things? This paper, using document-based and analytic method, referring to commentaries and studying commentators’ opinion on the the semantic of the word sakinah critically, has concluded that what is meant by the word in the six verses differs essentially with what meant by its derivatives in other pacifying things. The former is a non-mundane reality sent down to the hearts of the Prophet and believers under special states and particular situations and leads them to special ends. The meaning of sakinah in the two cases would really be of two essentially different sorts.
