بيان‏ المعاني نخستين تفسير تنزيلي است كه در آن تمامي سوره‌هاي قرآن كريم را با الهام از مصحف امام علي(ع) و تكيه بر سياق و نظم آيات و توجه به مقتضيات زمان نزول، از منظري تاريخي و بر اساس ترتيب نزول مورد بررسي قرار داده است. او بهترين روش تفسيري را روشي مي‌داند كه در بستر عصر نزول قرآن و بر اساس ترتيب نزول آن باشد. از آنجا كه قرآن كريم به زبان عربي نازل شده، درك و فهم و تفسير آن، آشنايي با علوم ادبي را مي‌طلبد؛ ملاحويش رجوع به علوم ادبي را براي درك و فهم و تفسير آيات، ضروري دانسته و از ادبيات عرب به شكل وسيعي استفاده كرده است. رويكرد خاص مفسر نسبت به علوم ادبي و مباني و شيوه‌هاي نقد و تحليل آن‌ها، موضوعي است كه در اين مقاله مورد بررسي قرار گرفته است. استناد به آيات قران به‌عنوان منبع اصيل ادبي و استفاده از سياق آيات، استناد به روايات تفسيري صحيح، ترجيح سياق بر روايات، استفاده از عرف عرب، استناد به اشعار عرب، توجه به فضاي عصر نزول، تكيه بر مستندات تاريخي و استفاده ابزاري از علوم ادبي در فهم قران، برخي از مباني رويكرد ادبي اين مفسر مي‌باشند.

BayanalMa'ani is the first revelational exegesis in which, inspired by Mushaf of Imam 'Ali and relying on the register and order of ayahs respecting the circumstances of the revelation time, all Qur'anic Surahs were studied from a historical perspective, and according to their revelation order. To the author of this exegesis, Molla Hoveish A'al Ghazi, the best exegetic method is the one that is in the context of the revelation era of the Qur'an and based on a descending order. As the Holy Qur'an is revealed in Arabic, Arabic literature is required to understand and interpret the Qur'anic ayahs. Molla Hoveish deems it necessary to refer to literary sciences to understand and interpret ayahs, and has used Arabic literature widely. His specific approach to literary sciences as well as the principles and methods of reviewing and analyzing them is the topic studied in this paper. Some of the principles of Molla Hoveish's literary approach are: citing Qur'anic ayahs as a genuine literary source and using the register of ayahs, citing correct exegetic narrations, preferring register to narrations, using the Arab custom, citing Arabic poetry, paying attention to the circumstances of the revelation era, relying on historical evidence, utilizing literary sciences in apprehending the Qur'an and not putting them as the main purpose of interpretation.
