Comparison the effect of plant growth regulator (IBA) on the rooting of sky flower (Duranta repens) cuttings in plastic tunnel and outside condition in spring and autumn

Sky flower is an ornamental evergreen shrub in the landscape of subtropical regions. It has suitable forming and good resistance against high temperature up to 50. C. In Khozestan, Sky flower, is propagated basically by stem cutting under outside condition. In order to verify the effect of IBA with the levels of 4000, 2000, 1000 and 0 ppm on rooting of stem cutting an experiment was conducted. Also, we did a comparison between cutting cultivation under outside condition and the one in a plastic tunnel in the spring and autumn time periods. The results showed the best rooting cutting with the high percentage of 96.6 was obtained through cutting cultivation in the spring time under plastic tunnel with the level of 2000 ppm. Also, the factors like the number of roots, length, diameter and the weight of dry root per cutting in spring cultivation under plastic tunnel was significantly at 5% level of probability more than the other forms of plantation. Another result indicated that a similar enhanced was recorded in the number of leaves and the dry weight of leaves produced per cutting.
