ارزيابي كلي كتاب "پراسپكت دو" از ديدگاه دبيران زبان انگليسي

An overall Evaluation of "Prospect II" from the Perspective of English Teachers

از مهم‌ترين و ضروري‌ترين نيازهاي هر نظام آموزشي، برنامه‌ريزي، تدوين، بررسي، تغيير و به‌روزرساني كتاب‌هاي درسي است چراكه تقويت بنياد هر نظام آموزشي، وابسته به كيفيت و كميت اطلاعاتي است كه از طريق «رسانه‌اي مهم و پركاربرد» به‌نام كتاب درسي در اختيار دانش‌آموزان قرار مي‌گيرد. بنابراين، ارزيابي كتاب‌هاي درسي براي ارتقا و ترسيم ويژگي‌هاي كتاب‌هاي آينده امري ضروري است. از اين‌رو، تحقيق حاضر به ارزيابي كتاب «پراسپكت دو»مي‌پردازد كه در سال‌هاي اخير در پايه هشتم نظام آموزشي ايران (دوم متوسطه) جهت تدريس زبان انگليسي مورد استفاده قرار گرفته است. در اين بررسي، نظرات معلمان زبان انگليسي هفت شهر اصفهان، همدان، كرج، سنندج، رشت، قروه و بروجرد به‌وسيلهپرسش‌نامه ۶۵ سئوالي محقق‌ساخته گردآوري و مورد تحليل قرار گرفته است. به‌منظور حصول اطمينان از روايي و پايايي ابزار تحقيق، نخست پرسش‌نامه مذكور به‌صورت آزمايشي در مقياس محدود به اجرا درآمد و بر اين اساس، ضريب پايايي پرسش‌نامه (آلفاي كرانباخ برابر 9 /‍0) ونيز روايي سازه آن از طريق تحليل عاملي (تأييدي)تأييد گرديد. در مطالعه اصلي از ميان 236 پرسش‌نامه توزيع‌شده، 200 نسخه توسط دبيران تكميل شد و 38 نفر نيز در مصاحبه‌اي نيمه‌ساختارمند شركت نمودند. نتايج حاصل از تحليل كمّي و كيفي پرسش‌نامه و سئوالات مصاحبه نشان داد كه دبيران زبان انگليسي، كتاب حاضر را به‌لحاظ محتواي زباني مناسب و از نظر جنبه‌هاي ظاهري، فرهنگي، و نيز ايجاد شرايط واقعي براي استفاده از زبان هدف ضعيف ارزيابي كرده‌اند.

One of the most basic and essential necessities of every educational system is the development, evaluation and adaptation of textbooks. A key condition for safeguarding the foundations of any educational system is the quality and quantity of information that is made available to students through textbooks as an important and widely applicable educational media. Hence, textbook evaluation is of grave significance for the upcoming textbook development and revision projects. Against this background, the present study sets out to evaluate "Prospect II" as a textbook package designed for second grade high school English course in the Iranian public education system. For this purpose, a 65 item Likert scale researcher made questionnaire was developed and pilot tested. Based on the obtained data from the pilot study, the reliability index was found (α=0.9) to be highly acceptable. Moreover, confirmatory factor analyses confirmed the instrument as a valid questionnaire for the intended purpose. The questionnaire was distributed among 236 English teachers from Isfahan, Hamedan, Karaj, Sanandaj, Ghorveh, Rasht and Boroujerd, 200 of whom returned the completed questionnaire. Furthermore 38 English teachers sat for a semi-structured interview. Both quantitative and qualitative data analyses revealed that the teachers regarded the textbook as acceptable considering the language related content, however, they believed that the text is quite unacceptable and poor concerning physical and cultural aspects. Finally, the provision of authentic contexts of language use for the EFL learners was also found to be unsatisfactory.
