The Relation between Philosophy of Information and LIS According to Luciano Floridi: A Critical Analysis

هدف: تولید دانش درخودنگرانه در علم كتابداری و اطلاع‌رسانی و تقویت مبانی نظری آن از طریق بررسی ارتباط و تعامل بین فلسفه اطلاعات با علم كتابداری و اطلاع‌رسانی. روش‌شناسی: تحلیل مفهومی آرای لوچیانو فلوریدی درباره نسبت فلسفه اطلاعات با علم كتابداری و اطلاع‌رسانی و ارزیابی انتقادی آن. یافته‌ها: برای ایجاد مبنای نظری مناسب در علم كتابداری و اطلاع‌رسانی، تفكر فلسفی یك ضرورت است. فلسفه اطلاعات می‌تواند مبنای فكری مناسبی برای علم كتابداری و اطلاع‌رسانی فراهم كند. با وجود این، رابطه فلسفه اطلاعات با علم كتابداری و اطلاع‌رسانی یك‌سویه نیست، بلكه بین آنها رابطه‌ای دوسویه برقرار است. كتابداری و اطلاع‌رسانی در مقام فلسفه كاربردی اطلاعات می‌تواند در توسعه هرچه بیشتر فلسفه اطلاعات، به‌ویژه در حل مسائل كاربردی و اخلاقی سپهر اطلاعات، نقشی فعال ایفا كند. نتیجه‌گیری: دیدگاه فلوریدی درباره نسبت بین فلسفه اطلاعات با علم كتابداری و اطلاع‌رسانی، گرچه واجد بصیرت‌های مهمی است، لیكن رویكردی حذف‌گرایانه دارد و سایر نحله‌های فكری را كنار می‌گذارد. فلسفه اطلاعات می‏تواند یكی از منابع فكری لازم برای قوام‌‌بخشیدن به مبانی نظری علم كتابداری و اطلاع‌رسانی را فراهم كند، اما یگانه منبع نیست. در مقابل رویكرد حذف‌گرایانه فلوریدی، رویكرد تكثرانگارانه پیشنهاد می‌شود. كلیدواژه‌ها: لوچیانو فلوریدی، علم كتابداری و اطلاع‌رسانی، فلسفه اطلاعات، معرفت‌شناسی اجتماعی، اطلاعات معنایی

Purpose: Analyzing the relation and interaction between philosophy of information and Library and Information Science (LIS) in order to equip it with reflective knowledge and to constitute a reasonable intellectual foundation for it.  Methodology: Conceptual analysis and critical assessment of Luciano Floridiʹs thoughts about the relation between philosophy of information and LIS.  Results: Philosophical reflection is a necessary condition to constitute a reasonable intellectual foundation for LIS. Philosophy of information can provide LIS with such a foundation. However, the relation between these two fields is not unilateral, but mutual. LIS as an applied philosophy of information can play an active role in further development of philosophy of information, especially in resolving practical and ethical problems of infosphere. Conclusion: Though we can find important insights in Floridiʹs viewpoints about the relation between philosophy of information and LIS, his approach is eliminative, in that he disregards other intellectual schools than his own philosophy of information. Philosophy of information could be regarded as one of the intellectual resources for constituting theoretical foundation of LIS, but it is not the only resource.
