حل مسأله فرايندي ذهني، تفكري، دانشي و مهارتي است كه در واقع پديد آورنده علوم، فناوري، مهندسي و به طور كلي همه ابداعات و اختراعات و دستاوردهاي بشري است. در واقع يكي از مهم ترين اهداف و كارهاي علوم و فناوري، شناسايي و حل مسايل مربوط به آن حوزه ي موضوعي مي باشد. حل مسئله بر اساس مفهوم مسئله تعريف مي شود. براي مسئله تعاريف مختلفي ارائه شده است. بنا به يكي از تعاريف، مسئله عبارت است از فاصله بين وضعيت موجود با وضعيت مطلوب يا مورد نظر در يك سيستم. براين اساس حل مسئله عبارت است از فرايند يافتن راه يا راهكار رسيدن از وضعيت موجود به وضعيت مطلوب مورد نظر، تعريف ديگر مسئله بيان مي دارد كه در باره يك موضوع يا وضعيت، بخشي از نكات با جنبه ها مشخص و معلوم است و بخشي از نكات با جنبه ها نامشخص و مجهول است. بر اين اساس حل مسئله عبارت است از فرايند يافتن نكات يا جنبه هاي مجهول با استفاده از نكات با جنبه هاي معلوم. موضوع حل مسئله و انواع رويكرد ها و روش شناسي هاي حل مسئله در علوم مختلف و از جمله در علم ميان رشته اي خلاقيت شناسي خلاقيت نوآوري شناسي مورد مطالعه و بررسي قرار مي گيرد.

Problem solving is a mental process, thinking, knowledge and skill that actually creates the science, technology, engineering, and in general all the innovations and inventions of human beings. In fact, one of the most important goals and tasks of science and technology is identifying and solving issues related to that subject area. Problem solving is defined based on the concept of the problem. Different definitions are given for the problem. According to one definition, the problem is the distance between an existing situation and a desirable or desired state in a system. On this basis, the problem is the process of finding a way or way of reaching the status quo to the desired situation. Another definition of the problem is that it is clear about a subject or state, some of the points or aspects, and some of the points or aspects are unclear and unknown. Accordingly, the problem solving is the process of finding unknown points or aspects using known points or aspects. The issue of problem solving and types of approaches and problem-solving methodologies in related sciences, including in interdisciplinary science, is credited to innovation creativity.
