The Function of Khoy as Medium Sized City in the Spatial Development of West Azerbaijan Province

هدف اين مقاله بررسي عملكرد شهر مياني خوي در توسعة فضائي استان آذربايجان غربي و روش تحقيق «توصيفي – تحليلي» است. براي بررسي نقش شهر و حوزة نفوذ آن از روش ها و مدل هاي كمي استفاده شده است. مدل هاي جمعيتي نشان مي دهند كه شهر خوي از توان كشش پذيري جمعيتي برخوردار بوده و بدون در نظر گرفتن آن در شبكة شهري استان، عدم تعادل بيشتر مي شود. مدل هاي اقتصادي حكايت از آن دارند كه خوي نقش خدماتي داشته و بخش صنعت از رشد بالائي نسبت به ديگر بخش ها برخوردار است. هم چنين اين شهر در سطح استان از لحاظ شاخص هاي اقتصادي (اشتغال) در رتبة دوم بعد از مادر شهر اروميه قرار دارد. بررسي حوزة نفوذ شهر نشان مي دهد كه اين شهر بخش قابل توجهي از خدمات خود را به حوزة نفوذ اختصاص داده و در رفع نيازهاي خدماتي براي سكونتگاه هاي حوزة نفوذ خود در درجة اول اهميت قرار دارد. لذا اين شهر با توجه به نقاط قوت و فرصت هاي مناسب و تمايل شبكة شهري استان به سمت عدم تعادل در آينده مي تواند در سطح بندي منطقه اي به عنوان مركزيت خدماتي و صنعتي سكونتگاه هاي بخش شمالي استان ايفاي نقش كند.

The aim of this article is to study the function of Khoy as a medium sized city in the spatial development of the Azerbaijan Gharbi province. The research method is descriptive – analytical. The quantative models have been used to study the place of the city and it's hinterland. The population models indicate that the Khoy city has the capacity to attract emigrants. If it is not considered in the urban network of the province the will be more imbalances. The economic models indicate that in Khoy city the industrial sector has a higher growth rate than the other sectors. This city has also the second rank in the economic criteria between province cities. Studying the hinterland of the city indicate that Khoy has the first role in eliminating the service needs of it's area residences. Therefore, considering the suitable opportunities and the positive points and tendency of the provincial urban network towards imbalances in future, this city can play the role of center for the northern parts of province in service - offering sector and industry.
