در تحليل و تبيين نقش و جايگاه ژئوپليتيك و ژئواستراتژيك ايران در اقتصاد بين الملل نمي­توان نقش سواحل خليج فارس و منطقه مكران را ناديده گرفت به نحوي كه هم منطقه مكران و هم سواحل خليج فارس دروازه صادرات واردات حجم عظيمي از كلاهاي اقتصادي و فراورده‌هاي انرژي محسوب مي‌شوند. سؤال اصلي مقاله اين است كه نقش و تأثير سواحل خليج فارس و منطقه مكران در اقتصاد بين الملل چيست و با توجه به تأثير استراتژيكى آن‌ها بر ايران چگونه مي­توان مدلي راهبردى براي توسعه اقتصادى و سياسى ايران با استفاده از جايگاه سواحل خليج فارس و منطقه مكران در اقتصاد بين الملل ارائه داد؟ بي شك موقعيت ژئواكونوميكي سواحل خليج فارس و منطقه مكران نسبت به آسياي ميانه و منطقه قفقاز و نيز موقعيت آن‌ها در قلب مناطق غني از انرژي‌هاي فسيلي خاورميانه و نيز جمعيت انبوه و فراوان كشورهاي اطراف اين دو منطقه جايگاه بي بديلي را به آن‌ها در اقتصاد بين الملل بخشيده است به نحوي كه فشارها و پيشنهادهاي اقتصادي متعددي از سوي قدرت‌هاي اقتصادي جهان براي دسترسي به اين دو منطقه شكل گرفته است. با توجه به اين مقدمه در اين مقاله تلاش خواهد شد با استفاده از منابع كتابخانه­اي و نيز مقالات علمي و پژوهشي به تحليل و تبيين نقش و تأثير سواحل خليج فارس و منطقه مكران در اقتصاد بين الملل و تأثير استراتژيكى آن‌ها بر ايران و نهايتاً ارائه يك مدل راهبردى در توسعه اقتصادى و سياسى با توجه به نقش اين دو منطقه پرداخته شود.
