Examining Literary Translation Challenges: An Analytical Review of Text Type, Text components, and Challenges of the Reader

ترجمة متن ادبي، سخت‌ترين نوع ترجمه است و با چالش‌هاي ويژه‌اي روبه‌روست كه باعث دشواري بيش از پيش ترجمه مي‌شود. اين نوع از ترجمه، نيازمند بحث‌هاي نظري است تا راهكارهايي براي ترجمة بهتر و توفيق بيشتر مترجمان ارائه دهد. در اين راستا، پژوهش پيش رو بر آن است تا با روشي توصيفي‌ـ تحليلي به ويژگي‌هاي اين نوع متون و چالش‌هايي بپردازد كه مترجم در ترجمه با آن‌ها سروكار دارد. از رهگذر اين بررسي مشخص شد كه هر مترجم ادبي با سه چالش كلّي و بنيادين روبه‌رو است كه عبارتند از: «چالش نوع متن»، «چالش خواننده»، «چالش اجزاي متن». از اين ميان، چالش اجزاي متن را مي‌توان به «چالش الفاظ»، «چالش اصطلاحات و تعابير اصطلاحي»، «چالش ساختار جمله و تركيب» و... تقسيم كرد. از اين رو، مترجم بايد به اين چالش‌ها و راه‌هاي برون‌رفت از آن‌ها توجه داشته باشد تا در ترجمة خود گرفتار به‌كارگيري الفاظ ناشناخته و غريب و نيز ساختارهاي نامأنوس نشود كه منجر به تضعيف سطح ترجمه و كاهش ميزان اثرگذاري آن گردد. از جمله راهكارهايي كه براي زدودن آن چالش‌ها ارائه شد، گردآوري همة معاني در چارچوب بافت‌هاي متعدد، مراجعه به پژوهش‌هاي جديدي كه در حوزة اصطلاحات جديد صورت مي‌گيرد، توسعه‌بخشي مفهوم ضمني و... مي‌باشد.

The translation of the literary text is the most challenging form of translation and faces particular challenges that make translation more difficult. This type of translation requires a theoretical discussion to provide solutions for better translation and success of translators. In this regard, the present study seeks to provide a descriptive-analytical method to the characteristics of these types of texts and challenges that the interpreter faces in translation. Through this survey, it became clear that every literary translator faces three fundamental challenges: the challenge of the type of text, the challenge of the reader, the challenge of the components of the text. The challenge of the components of the text can be classified as the challenge of words, the challenge of phrasal and idiomatic expressions, and the challenge of the sentence structure and syntax, and so on. Therefore, the translator must pay attention to these challenges and ways out of them to avoid being involved in the translation of unfamiliar and obscure words and structures that lead to attenuating the level of translation and reducing its effectiveness. Among the solutions presented to eliminate those challenges are the collection of all meanings in the context of multiple texts, the reference to new research which is conducted in the area of new terms, the development of the implicit concept, and so on.
