زنان در آثار ادب فارسي سيمايي در خور تأمل دارند . آراستگي و جودشان به دو صفت مادري و معشوقي از آنان چهره اي خاص عرضه كرده ا ست . علاوه بر اين دو، ويژگيهاي شناخته و ناشناختۀ اين نيمۀ پنهان مردانه سبب گرديده تا قضاوت در بارۀ رفتار و منش آنان چندان آسان نباشد . اميرخسرو دهلوي كه بايد او را نامدار ترين مقلّد نظامي دانست، در خمسۀ خويش كوشيده است تا ما را بهتر با دنياي زنان، نقشها و رفتارهايشان آشنا كند. زناني كه گاه مادرند و گاه معشوق و اگر در لباس اين دو نقش نباشند ، همان زن بودنشان كافي است تا كليد بسياري از رفتارها و ماجراها باشند. اميرخسرو در آفرينش سيماي زن ويژگيهاي خاص خود را دارد. توني گرنت يكي از معدود روانشناساني است كه شخصيت زن را به عنوان يك موجود آزاد و مستقل مورد بررسي قرار داده است .ديدگاه و نظريۀ ارائه شده توسط وي از جهاتي مشابه ديدگاه ادبيات ايران ، بخصوص امير خسرو نسبت به زن است. وي چهارگونه شخصيت را براي زن تصوير ميكند: زن مادونا، آمازون، مادر و معشوقه و مشخصات هر يك را بتفصيل بيان ميكند. هدف مقاله در اين جستار، كنكاشي در سيماي زن در آثار اميرخسرو دهلوي شاعر نام آور پارسيگوي هند و تبيين زواياي پنهان چهرۀ زن در آثار اين شاعر و مقايسۀ آن با ديدگاه روانشناسانۀ گرنت است.
