با توجه به كانوني بودن گفت‌وگو در كنش ارتباطي و نقش تحليل كلام در بازسازي و استقرار گفتمان، 133 گفت‌وگوي موجود در قرآن به روش تمام‌شماري استخراج و سپس به ترتيب نزول سوره‌ها (و نه به ترتيب مصحف) با اقتبـاس از ديگر پژوهش‌هاي قرآني، در چهار مرحله، دعوت علني پيــامبر و ايمان مخفي مؤمنان؛ گسترش دعوت و علني شدن اعتقادات مؤمنان؛ تشكيل جامعه ايماني؛ و تثبيت و پايش جامعه اسلامي طبقه‌بندي شدند‌ (مراحل اول و دوم مكي و مراحل سوم و چهارم مدني است). سپس با به كار بستن يك تركيب چند سطحي از انواع و سطوح مختلف نظريه و روش تحليل گفتمان، ابتدا مهم‌ترين عناصر زبان‌شناختي گفت‌وگوها بر اساس مكتب نقش‌گراي هليدي استخراج و سپس گفت‌وگوها در بافت و زمينه متن و كلان اجتماع بازخواني شدند. در انتها با استخدام مفاهيم نظريه گفتماني لاكلائو و موف؛ صورت‌بندي تطورات گفتماني گفت‌وگوها طي 23 سال نزول قرآن ترسيم و ارائه شده است كه در آن فرآيند اضمحلال گفتمان شرك‌آلود حاكم و شكل‌گيري اوليه گفتمان حاكميت اسلامي در چهار مرحله «بي‌قراري گفتمان حاكم»؛ «غيريت‌سازي»، «مفصل‌بندي گفتماني» و «پيرايش گفتماني» معرفي شده است.
