The evaluation of Iranian Library and Information Science Association Performance based on members' views

هدف: ارزيابي رضايت اعضاي انجمن كتابداري و اطلاع رساني از عملكرد خود براي بهبود فعاليت هاي انجمن است. روش/ رويكرد: پژوهش به روش پيماشي و با استفاده از يك پرسشنامه تحت وب و ارسال پيوند آن به گروه هاي بحث موضوعي انجام شد كه 112 نفر آن را تكميل كردند. يافته ها: يافته ها نشان داد كه رضايت اعضا از خبرنامه و برگزاري همايش ها و امور مربوط به آنها از جمله كيفيت همايش ها، زمان، مكان و موضوع بالاتر از سطح متوسط و در ساير جنبه ها و فعاليت ها كمتر از حد متوسط ارزيابي شده است. همچنين موفقيت انجمن در برآورده كردن انتظارات اعضا اندكي كمتر از حد متوسط ارزيابي شده است. بازديد از وبگاه انجمن، شركت در همايش ها و كارگاه ها، و همكاري با شاخه هاي استاني رايج ترين شيوه هاي تعامل اعضا با انجمن بوده است. مشاركت در فعاليت هاي اجتماعي و علمي، افزايش دانش حرفه اي، ديدار دوستان و همكاران قديمي در محافل علمي و استفاده از خدمات انجمن چهار انگيزه اصلي اعضا براي عضويت در انجمن بوده اند.

Purpose: The purpose of this research is to evaluate Iranian Library and Information Science Association (ILISA) performance based on members' views in order to promote its activities. Methodology/Approach: This survey study was conducted using an online questionnaire. The link to the questionnaire was sent to Library and Information Science (LIS) online discussion groups and 112 people completed it. Results: The results showed that the members' satisfaction with ILISA newsletter, conferences and the quality, time, place and theme of the conferences was above the average; while in all the other aspects was below the average. Also, the ILISA performance in meeting members' expectations was evaluated slightly below the average. Visiting ILISA website, attending conferences and workshops, and cooperating with provincial branches were the most common ways of interaction between association and its members. The four main motivations for members to join ILISA were cooperating in social and scientific activities, enhancing professional knowledge, meeting friends and ex-colleagues in meetings and using the services.
