Globalization and the National Interests of the Islamic Repulic of Iran

مطالعه منافع ملى و راه‌هاى تأمين آن در عصر فراصنعت و فرااطلاعات نيازمند نگاه ويژه‌اى به آن است. در دوران جديد و روند فزاينده جهانى شدن، مفهوم منافع ملى صرفآ در برگيرنده مرزهاى ملى نظم وستفالى نمى‌باشد، بلكه دولت‌ها ناگزيرند بيش از گذشته به محيط عملياتى و متغيرهاى مربوط به بستر جهانى شدن توجه نمايند. در شرايط جديد، چگونگى تأمين منافع ملى ايران تا حد زيادى نيازمند شناخت فرآيندهاى جهانى شدن و تعامل هدفمند با بازيگران روابط بين المللى است. در اين راستا، سياست گفت‌وگوى تمدن‌ها و تنش زدايى مى‌تواند باعث تقويت قدرت ملى و منطقه‌اى ايران شده و زمينه را براى استفاده از امكانات و فرصت‌هاى بين المللى فراهم سازد.

The study of national interests and the strategies for ensuring it in the post-industrial and post-informational era requires a specific approach. In this new increasingly globalizing world the concept of national interests does not merely include the Westfally order within national boundaries, but governments have to bring into consideration the operational environment and the variables of globalization, as well. In the present circumstances, the know-how to ensure the national interests of Iran to a great extent requires underestanding the process of globalization and purposeful interacting with international relations actors. The dialogue of civilizations and dÅtente policy can strengthen Iran's national and regional power and provide the ground for benefiting from international opportunities.
